Sustainable design requires insightful understanding of how to fuse site constraints, current technology, client needs, project budgets, government regulations, and funding sources to realize a sensitive Architectural solution. LMA's staff is experienced in achieving sustainable solutions in the metrics that matter the most, as well as achieving LEED certification through the United States Green Building Council’s LEED building rating program.

The Arts complex was recently awarded LEED Gold Certification and was completed Fall of 2009. Site features include an on-site retention pond to capture storm water runoff and extensive use of permeable pavers which facilitate drainage into a series of on-site drywells. Drought tolerant plant material is utilized coupled with the use of non-potable irrigation to achieve water efficiency. Energy Efficiency is maximized through the use of a central plant and a highly efficient building envelope utilizing strategic placement of sunscreens, energy efficient glazing system, and a cool roof system.
